High-Performance Ceramic Coating for Marine Surfaces

Conventional marine wax sits on top of your vessel’s surface and is removed progressively by Florida’s intense UV radiation, saltwater immersion, and rain, often within six to eight weeks of application in Florida’s climate. Nano-ceramic coatings work at an entirely different level. Applied by a trained technician to a properly prepared surface, a ceramic coating chemically bonds with your gelcoat or painted surface at a molecular level, creating a hard, sacrificial protective layer that cannot be washed or waxed away.
The bonded ceramic layer is hydrophobic, UV-resistant, and chemically inert to the saltwater, bird fouling, and environmental fallout that a Florida-based vessel encounters daily. Water sheets off the surface immediately, salt cannot crystallize into the pores, and UV rays are reflected rather than absorbed by the coating. The result is a surface that stays cleaner between washes, holds its gloss dramatically longer, and requires significantly less maintenance to keep at the standard it deserves.

Advanced Hydrophobic Properties

The smooth, glass-like surface created by the coating ensures that water and salt spray bead off immediately. This prevents the formation of water spots and makes it much harder for grime or bird droppings to stick to the boat.

Long-Term Gloss Retention

Unlike wax, which melts away in the heat, ceramic coatings remain intact and continue to provide a deep, wet-look shine. This permanent bond helps preserve the “just-detailed” look of your yacht for an extended period.

Ceramic-Coated vs. Uncoated

Creating a Long-Term Barrier Against the Elements

The most compelling demonstration of what ceramic coating delivers is not the finish on application day. It is the comparison between a ceramic-coated vessel and an uncoated one after six months of regular Florida use. The coated vessel sheds water, resists staining, and holds its gloss with minimal intervention. The uncoated vessel has accumulated salt pitting, biological waterline staining, and early-stage oxidation that requires a full detail to address.

Our before-and-after portfolio documents both the application result and the long-term performance on real client vessels. We photograph every ceramic coating job at application completion and again at a follow-up inspection, because the true measure of a coating is its performance after curing rather than its appearance at the end of the service day.

FAQs About Marine Ceramic Coating

Let’s Answer Your Questions

Does the surface need to be polished before ceramic coating is applied?

Yes, this is non-negotiable. Ceramic coating bonds to and amplifies whatever surface condition exists underneath it. Any oxidation, swirl marks, or defects present at the time of application are locked in under the coating. Full paint correction must be completed before any ceramic product is applied.

Can ceramic coating be applied over existing wax?

No. Existing wax, sealant, and surface contamination must be completely removed before coating application. Our preparation process covers full decontamination, clay bar treatment, and IPA panel wipe-down to ensure a clean, bare surface for bonding.

What areas of the vessel can be ceramic-coated?

Hull, topsides, superstructure, deck surfaces, stainless steel, glass, and in some cases fabric can all be treated. We assess the full vessel and quote for the specific coverage you want, hull-only through full-vessel treatment, based on your protection priorities.

How do I maintain a ceramic-coated vessel?

Rinse with fresh water after salt exposure and wash periodically with a pH-neutral marine shampoo. Avoid abrasive cleaning products or brushes on coated surfaces. We provide a full written care guide after every ceramic coating application.
